3 – Healthy Low Fat Smoothie Recipes

Here are three healthy low fat smoothies to whip up in your blender at home:

Wheatgrass Whirl of Wonder Smoothie

Wheatgrass is an ingredient often used in natural fruit juices but less commonly used in smoothies. Buck the trend and be unique in this regard! This wheatgrass smoothie recipe is worth giving a whirl.

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 medium orange, peeled and halved
  • 1 medium apple, quartered
  • 4 strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup of wheatgrass
  • 1-3 ice cubes

Start with a small portion of wheatgrass as this is new territory for you. Combine all ingredients in your blender and blend for a minute to a minute and a half.

Wonderful and Wacky Wheat Germ Smoothie

Wheat germ is good for you but often is sprinkled on yogurt or oatmeal but is not an ingredient included in a low fat smoothie. Break with tradition and give a wheat germ smoothie a try. You may fall in love with it instantly!

  • 1 ripe medium banana
  • 1 cup vanilla low-fat or non-fat yogurt
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1 cup cracked ice
  • 1 cup sliced fresh peaches or banana slices (whichever you prefer)

Cut the banana into chunks first (if you decide to use a banana instead of peaches). Place all ingredients into the blender adding the cracked ice last. Blend until the smoothie is smooth in its consistency. You may wish to sprinkle a dash of cinnamon or a little more wheat germ on top of the drink to enjoy it to its fullest.

Wild and Wicked Raspberry Strawberry Smoothie

This smoothie offers a wild ride with some delicious tasting fruit selections. If you love fruits then give this smoothie a whirl and then you may have so much energy that you will decide to give yourself a twirl about the room!

  • 1 cup of strawberries
  • 1 cup of raspberries
  • 1/2 cup of pineapple juice
  • 1 cup of low -fat natural yogurt (Greek yogurt works well)
  • 3- 5 ice cubes

Combine all of the ingredients into your blender. Blend the concoction for a minute. Check the constituency to make sure it is whipped and as smooth as you wish it to be.
