Here are some healthy smoothie recipes that you can whip up in your blender for a breakfast for champions.

You can choose to add ice cubes to these breakfast smoothies if you like however too much cold first thing in the morning can interfere with your digestion.

Strawberry Banana Delight

1/2 cup strawberries

1 banana

1/2 cup of spinach leaves

1 cup water

Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie

This recipe is a winner for the whole family. Make sure when shopping for the pineapple that you choose one that is ripe because this will add a natural sweetness to your breakfast smoothie and it will appeal more to the kids. If the pineapple yields to gentle pressure, has a golden yellow color and a leaf can easily be removed from the center of the fruit then you know that it is ripe.

1 cup fresh pineapple cubes

1/2 cup strawberries

1 banana

1/2 cup of spinach leaves

1 cup water

One to two drops of vanilla

One cup of plain or vanilla yogurt

Blueberry Pudding Smoothie

2 cups fresh or slightly thawed frozen blueberries

1 cup low fat vanilla yogurt

6 ounces of low fat milk

Place all ingredients into container of blender and blend on high until smooth.

Serve immediately. This smoothie recipe makes four servings.

Cherry Cantaloupe Smoothie

1/2 cantaloupe (peeled, seeded and sliced)

1/2 cups apple or apricot juice

2-3 pitted cherries

1/4 cups raspberries or blackberries

Place all ingredients into blender. Blend until smoothie consistency is reached.

Orange Banana Smoothie

1/2 cup orange juice

1/2 banana, peeled and chopped

1/4 teaspoons ginger root, peeled & grated

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Peach Smoothie Breakfast Delight

1 cup frozen peach slices

1/2 banana, sliced

3 tablespoons nonfat vanilla yogurt

1/4 cup orange juice or apple juice

1/2 cup nonfat rice milk, optional

Slice up ingredients as required and then place into the blender. Turn on the blender and blend to a consistency that is desirable for you.
