1. Aloha Smoothie

1 cup soy milk

2 cups pineapple juice

1 frozen banana

2 tablespoons skim milk

2 to 3 ice cubes

1 tablespoon coconut milk

Place all ingredients into the blender. Blend until the smoothie has a frothy consistency. You may wish to blend all of the ingredients together and then add in the ice cubes last. If you find coconut milk too fattening then try coconut essence instead. I t has twice the flavor but no fat.

2. Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

1 cup plant based milk

1 packet of instant oatmeal, regular flavor (or one cup of steel cut oats)

1 whole banana (cut into chunks)

1 cup orange juice

Combine all ingredients in the blender. Blend on high for a minute. Not only is this smoothie beneficial for energy boosting any time of the day but it is also an excellent choice for a breakfast smoothie.

3. Very Berry Smoothie

1 cup low fat plain or vanilla yogurt

1 cup plant based milk

1 cup frozen mixed berries

A few drops pure vanilla extract

3 to 4 ice cubes

Blend together and enjoy your very berry healthy drink!

4, Green Energy Smoothie

2 kiwi fruits

1 ripe banana

2 cups fresh baby spinach (or another type of leafy green)

¼ avocado

½ cup water

Put all of the ingredients together in the blender and whip up a blast of green power!

5. Pom Pom Smoothie

Pomegranate juice is rich in healthy antioxidants. Not only is it excellent as an energy lifter but studies have also shown that it is healthy for the heart and can help such medical conditions as high blood pressure and type two diabetes.

1 cup 100% pomegranate juice

¾ cup plant based milk

1 large banana

2 tablespoons almonds

1 teaspoon honey or Stevia sweetener

2 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a blender, adding the ice cubes last. Blend the concoction on high for 30 to 60 seconds. Check to see if the almonds have blended properly with the other ingredients. If they have not then turn the blender on a second time. This healthy smoothie recipe for energy makes enough for two servings.
