Starting A Raw Foods Diet? Start With These Juice Recipes

Many people have started to consider switching over to a raw foods diet to improve their health and fitness. Raw food is food that hasn’t been cooked, processed, microwaved, irradiated, genetically engineered, or exposed to pesticides or herbicides. Raw food is packed with natural enzymes and nutrients that help the body reach optimal health. One problem that many people beginning a raw foods diet encounter is disliking the bitterness of juice recipes that contain vegetables. The taste of these juices can be so off-putting to someone that is not used to them that it could make the person give up on juicing vegetables altogether. To soften the bitterness of fresh vegetable juices, many people choose to add carrots or apples to the recipe. In addition to increasing the nutritional content of the juice, carrots and apples have a way of smoothing out the bitterness in the juices they are added to, making them much more palatable.

Simple Carrot Juice Recipe

Ingredients

1 lbs large carrot (washed and peeled)
1/2 lemon (peeled)
3 kale leaf
1 apple

Directions

Put all ingredients in your juicer. Mix. Drink immediately.

Simple Vegetable Juice Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups chopped tomatoes
1 stalk celery
1 cucumber
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
pepper
cayenne pepper

Directions

Juice the tomatoes, celery, and cucumber in your juicer. Add salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to taste. Mix well. Drink immediately.

Simple Spinach Juice Recipe

Ingredients

1 bunch spinach
2 apples
1/2 lemon, peeled (optional)

Directions

Put all ingredients in your juicer. Mix well and enjoy.
