Why You Should Try Juicing Carrots

carrot juiceJuicing carrots is one of the best things that you can do for your body. Juicing carrots allows you to take in more concentrated vegetable mass than you would be able to eating the vegetables raw or cooked. Juicing the vegetables also retains the valuable enzymes and nutrients of the carrots and helps the body metabolize them into the body’s cells.

Because carrots grow deep underground, they can absorb a wide variety of minerals from the soil as they are growing. Carrots contain a large amount of vitamin A and beta-carotene, which help maintain vision. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant that also helps maintain the tissue surrounding your internal organs.

Carrots also contain significant amounts of B vitamins and folates. Carrot juice is believed to help detoxify the liver and aid in its regeneration. Without a functioning liver, we would quickly die of the buildup of toxins in our blood. Helping your liver work effectively can do wonders for your overall health.

Carrots are so great for juicing that many home juicing recipes contain carrots as a staple ingredient. Carrots store well for long periods of time, unlike leafy vegetables, and take up a relatively small amount of space. You can get a significant quantity of juice from carrots, much more than many people realize.

Some juicing recipes use carrots as a base and add different fruits or vegetables to create a special taste. When juicing carrots, it is important to use a masticating juicer that operates at slower speeds, as the expensive high-speed juicers can sometimes overheat the carrots and destroy some of the enzymes. To ensure that you are getting the most juice from your carrots, run them through the juicer slowly using the plunger that came with the juicer. The leftover vegetable pulp should be somewhat dry and fibrous. If it is wet, then you are not getting most of the juice out.
