Juice Recipes That Relieve Indigestion

Indigestion is usually not a sign of a more serious health problem but it is bothersome enough that many people seek immediate relief. Fortunately, the symptoms of the condition can be relieved or eliminated with some special juice recipes.

Some foods are better than others for juicing to relieving indigestion. For example, tomato fruit and juice contains organic acids that enhance digestive function by stimulating the salivary and gastric glands to increase their secretions. This helps the body digest foods high in starch, such as bread, pasta, rice and potatoes, and those that are high in protein, such as meat, fish, eggs and milk products.

Another food that is good in aiding digestion is apples. Apples contain a natural laxative and helps improve the intestinal muscle’s ability to keep the food moving through the digestive system. They are most effective when they are mixed with carrots and spinach because of the complementing properties of those foods. Carrots help the liver release more bile, which can help to relieve constipation and help with digestion. Spinach has a high fiber content that makes it a remarkable intestinal tract scrubber.

Here are some good juicing recipes to try to relieve indigestion:

Green Breakfast Blend

2 medium green apples
3 medium carrots
1 cucumber
15 green grapes
1 medium sweet green pepper
2 cups of spinach
1 medium whole tomato

Process all ingredients in a juicer, shake or stir and serve.

Green Juice For Beginners

3 medium apples
4 large stalks of celery
1/4 thumb ginger
1/2 lemon (with rind)
1 large orange (peeled)
5 handfuls of spinach

You don’t have to peel the lemon, but make sure you peel the orange. The orange’s skin is very bitter and can ruin the flavor. Process all ingredients in a juicer, shake or stir and serve.
