Homemade V8 Juice Recipe – Tasty and Nutritious

juice recipeVegetables are extremely important for every one of us to eat yet a large percentage of our society does not consume enough vegetables on a regular basis. Many people are very picky about the vegetables that they will eat. Children are often the ones that are quickest to turn their noses up at the thought of vegetables.

If vegetables are not your food of choice then why not try juicing them? Juicing vegetables offer a way to get more of the vitamins and minerals that your body needs to be healthy. If you have always enjoyed the taste of V8 juice then you can make your own version of the drink at home. Your version however will be even more nutritious because it will be made up of raw vegetables. To make it even healthier choose organic produce from the farmer’s market in your area or from the grocery store you shop at.

The vegetable juices you buy prepackaged at the store are full of salt and preservatives. The live enzymes and the essential nutrients that you would get when you juice your own drinks at home are such that you cannot get with bottled drinks from the store.

Here is a juicer recipe for fresh raw V8 juice that is easily made at home:

-3 large tomatoes

-3 stalks of celery

-5 medium sized carrots

-1 small beet

-1/4 head of fresh cabbage

-1 or 2 bell peppers (choose from green or red or a little of both)

-2 cups of spinach

– 2 to 3 kale leaves

-1/4 sweet onion

-1/2 clove of garlic (optional)

Using your juicer at home juice all of the ingredients together. Then enjoy your homemade V8 juice chilled or add ice to it. For a taste with a little more of a kick to it add a tad bit of chili pepper.

Please note: This is raw and fresh V8 juice so it will have a different taste from the type you are used to purchasing at the store. If you would like the taste to resemble the store purchased product then substitute half or all of the tomatoes with stewed tomatoes or tomato sauce.
