Bringing in the new year is associated with new resolutions, large social gatherings and of course, alcohol. One side effect of alcohol we’re all too familiar with is the dreaded hangover. Every little sound resembles a train, suddenly daylight is as bright as a supernova and it feels like a jackhammer is going to town on your brain. Hangovers are definitely no fun, but there is a bit of good news for those who own a juicer: fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients to help dissolve your hangover. The more greens you can eat, the better you’ll feel, and what better way to eat large amounts of fruits and vegetables than with a juicer? Here are some hangover juice recipes for the new year.

Green Nutrient Punch

This green smoothie has every nutrient you would want to nurse your hangover. With antioxidants from the ginger, protein from the kale, and vitamin C from the lemon, you can kiss your hangover goodbye.

  • 2 medium apples
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 1 skinned lemon
  • thumb-sized ginger root
  • 1 peeled orange
  • 3 kale leaves
  • 2 handfuls of spinach

Tangy Red Redemption

Okay, we’re all guilty of doing regretful things after we’ve had a few drinks. This smoothie is great at cleansing your body, and we like to think that it’s perfect for cleansing away your bad decisions from the New Year’s party. Blueberries are natures painkillers, perfect for treating that headache.

  • handful of fresh parley
  • 1 peeled lime
  • 3 cups of watermelon
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups of blueberries
  • 1 beet root

Walk Of Fame

Instead of walk of shame, we figured walk of fame is more appropriate since you’ll feel like a movie star after this drink. The capsaicin from the jalapenos and high amounts of B vitamins in the cucumbers makes this one of the best recovery drinks around.

  • 1 peeled lemon
  • 1 jalapeno without seeds
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 2 apples

Coconut Colada

We don’t know of a better or tastier way to get some needed electrolytes the morning after. Coconut is brimming with electrolytes, and paired with the high levels of antioxidants from blackberries, you’ll quickly feel as if you never even had a drink.

  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 2 cups of blackberries
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
